We've been super busy over the past 2 weeks working on my office renovation, which I'm SUPER excited about!

Because we've been crazy busy, I've been trying to think of a few outfits that I can throw on to run to the hardware store or to pick up some groceries/takeout.

I want a look that is truly effortless, while still being cute.

While killing some time on Pinterest, I came across this gem. And it truly is a GEM! I mean, how much easier can you get?

Not only is this outfit Comfy.Simple.CHIC.and ADORABLE! It is also the Perfect way to wear white after Labor Day. The sweater is just heavy enough for September weather....or in our case, August. I'm not bitter at all. :)

But let's be honest. I'm most excited about the hat...it'll hide my crazy bed head or 2nd day hair. ;)

Fall Pinsperation

August 13, 2014

I've been noticing a lot of Fall looks on Pinterest recently and thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite looks! I think these outfits would be perfect for that "transition period" between Summer and Fall.
A Perfect September Look
I just love how effortless this look is. All you need is a great pair of jeans, a blouse and some fun accessories.
Want to create the look? Check out some of my suggestions here: Jeans, Blouse (or these: here and here), Clutch, Necklace, Bracelets (here, here and here), Watch

As the air crisps up a bit, this look is going to be comfy, while still staying classy. I love the layers! Bonus: Plaid is going to be huge this Fall :)

Get the look: Sweater (here or here), Blouse, Pants, Bangle, Cuff, Bag

You can wear this look from late September all the way through March. I love the colors and I'm always a sucker for pairing a dress with a great boot! To make this look a little bit more work appropriate, I selected a slightly dressier shirt dress. All of the pieces I've pulled for this look are from Target and come to less than $100 :)

Hope these looks help inspire your Fall wardrobe!

Smooth Morning Routine

August 11, 2014

After reading through this blog post on Blog Lovin', I was inspired to try some of these tips!

I am not, and I repeat Not a morning person. Of course there are different theories on whether or not people actually are "morning or not morning" people, but despite all opinions, morning is by far my least favorite time of day. So in an effort to be more responsible, I've decided to make a greater effort to improve my least favorable time of day. And incase you missed it, that would be morning. :)

For starters, here are a few tips that I've been trying lately:

1. Get Your Water Ready.

I'll be honest, I didn't' plan on trying this one. I'm a coffee in the morning type of gal, but in an effort to try something new, I decided to go for it. And guess what? It really does make a difference. I keep a water bottle on the sink in my bathroom (I like it to be room temperature) so it's easily accessible. I try to drink about 6-8 ounces as I'm getting ready. It really does help wake me up. I've realized how dehydrated I feel in the morning, so drinking water has really become quite refreshing.

2. Make Space for Movement.

This one is oh so true. When my bedroom is messy, all I can think and see in the morning is mess. I feel like I can't find anything and I end up just blankly staring at everything I need to put away. Taking a few minutes at night to get organized is HUGE for me.

3. Prepare Your Breakfast.

I almost always eat my breakfast at work, so I make sure I've hit up the grocery store so I have something that is easy to grab and go. The biggest time saver for me is setting the coffee to brew ahead of time and making sure I've prepared my lunch the night before. If all I need to do is pour my cup and throw everything into my cooler bag, I'm golden.

4. Know What You're Going to Wear.

*I picked up this clothing rack (link here) at Ikea to help me get organized.

This is hands down the biggest time saver for me. Planning ahead for what I'd like to wear during the week has solved the following issues:

1) I no longer waste 20 minutes staring at my closet wondering why I have all these               clothes, but nothing to wear...it happens.
2) I know the night before if I'll need to shave my legs, don't judge me.
3) I end up looking more put together and actually have time in the morning to do my hair and makeup.
4) I end up wearing more of the items in my closet, because I have the time to come up with new outfit combinations.
5) I feel more confident. This little word here will change how you handle yourself throughout the day. Not to mention, a better attitude :)

5. Put Your Things by the Door.

This is so easy. I know that I need my laptop bag, my cooler bag and purse. If I know that I want to change out my purse the night before, I can have it ready and sitting next to my front door along with the other items. All I have to do is grab it and go.

Now if I can just remember to have gas in my car... :)

So these are a few tips that I've been trying in order to establish a smoother morning routine. They've been working out so well I've even been going to bed earlier and sleeping a little later. More sleep? Um, yes please

What do you do to help get you through that morning funk?

Organization Me with Emily Ley

August 06, 2014

I love anything that helps keep my husband and I's crazy busy life organized. I always use a planner, because quite honestly my brain can't keep up with it all! I thought I would never find the perfect planner, but then I came across the Simplified Planner by Emily Ley

Aren't they SO cute??

I am pretty OCD when it comes to keeping a neat planner.

I want to have one place where I can jot down all of the daily and monthly "to-dos" as well as last minutes notes.

The Simplified Planner has this and More. There is a to-do list, morning, afternoon and evening breakdown, monthly glance, weekend checklist and much, much more.

I cannot wait to get the new 2015 copy :)

In the mean time, I've been taking advantage of her Free Printable Library. You heard me, Free..Printable..library!

Here are just a couple of my favorites:

Day Planner

When I have a super busy day...or let's be honest, week, I like to print a couple of these off to keep me on track to staying organized and productive.

Password Log

This is a no brainer. All of those passwords in one convenient place. I have one for work and home.

Blog Planner

For my fellows bloggers out there, this is a great editorial calendar. Have fun organizing all your brilliant ideas :)

Sunday Checklist

This is perfect. I love that Emily has taken the time to pre-write the things you and I try remember on Sunday night. Add your own little tid bits and this is the perfect list to help us begin our work week organized and ready to take on our crazy busy lives :)

And finally, The Packing List

This one is just a nod to my OCD. I can't wait to use this checklist for my upcoming business trip and mini beach weekend :)

So, basically Emily Ley is amazing and her family is oh so super cute :) Check out her Blog (here) and shop her sight (here)! She has some amazing products, not to mention more free printables to help keep you and your busy family organized and productive.

*This post is not sponsored. All opinions are my own. And I think her planner and printables are FAB. :)

3 Pieces to Transition you into Fall

August 04, 2014

Happy Monday!!

The hubs and I have been pretty busy doing a total overhaul on my office (Post to come!), but I did manage to sneak out this weekend for a little tax free shopping at the LOFT.  I shared my wish list with you here. Since I hit up the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale twice, I decided to limit myself to the items I could purchase in store and those I thought would be most versatile in my current wardrobe as we transition into Fall. I have to cut myself off somewhere ;)

Here's what I came home with!

This Shirt . . .

Where do I even start . . . this blouse is 1) crazy comfortable, 2) long enough to tuck in or wear out, and 3) can easily be dressed up or down. I see myself pairing it with the below looks as we finish out Summer, but I definitely plan to throw it on with a cream cable knit sweater, jeans and riding boots as we hit the Fall season.

Casual Friday or Dinner Out

LOFT skirt (similar here), old. Coach Sandals via TJ Maxx (cute option here).

Weekend Wear

Top (here), Sandals (similar option here), jeans (here), belt (here)

This Skirt . . .

This skirt is divine! And Bonus: it's Lined! The lining not only helps the skirt lay nicely, but it also adds a bit of warmth as the weather turns cool. The cotton has some stretch to it, which makes this skirt super comfortable to move in. My only recommendation is to size up. This little number is made to be fitted. :)

Weekend Brunch

All items via LOFT. Chambray (similar here), Top (similar here), Tote (similar here), Sandals (cute option here)

Casual Friday

Clutch via Ross (SUPER cute option here), Peplum Top via Target (similar here), Coach Sandals (similar here)

These Shoes . . .

These suede flats are amazing. I literally want them in every color. I decided to go with the taupe because 1) I don't have a taupe shoe in my closet and 2) because they are incredibly neutral. I could pair them with every outfit I've shown in this post and then some. Absolute perfection, and not to mention crazy comfortable.

For an early Fall look, I paired these flats with a LOFT cream bib blouse and the above pencil skirt. This outfit is perfect to wear in late September/early October. For some extra warmth and color, you could easily add a burgundy sweater. I have a boyfriend cardigan packed away from last season that I think would be perfect (cute option here!).

The Office

Top (similar option here)

Did you pick up any of these items this weekend? Which one is your favorite?
