Lush

This past weekend I was introduced to the phenomenon that is LUSH

For all of you that are late getting on the bandwagon with me, LUSH is a company of fresh handmade cosmetics. A few of their awesome qualities consists of no animal testing and their commitment to make effective products from fresh organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics.

I dropped by our local mall this past weekend to check them out myself!

Here are some of the treasures I found:

Avobath
Mask of Magnamity (self preserving)
Full of Grace Serum (with Tin)
Ceridwens Cauldron

The Avobath is a super fun Bath Bomb that you drop into your tub. It turns the water a fun minty green color while giving off a slight froth. The smell of lemongrass was invigorating while the avocado and olive oil left my skin feeling silky smooth. I love a fresh scent, so Avobath was a great first experience for me. Next time I think I'll try a Bath Melt for a little extra moisture!

The 2nd item I picked up for myself was the Mask of Magnamity. I have super sensitive,  acne prone skin. Although my skin typically produces enough oil to manufacture ::the struggle is real folks:: I tend to get a few dry spots around my chin and mouth during the winter. When I asked the associate if LUSH had a mask that could work with all of that crazy, she recommended, Mask of Magnamity.

This mask helps clarify and smooth problematic skin. The main ingredients consist of China clay, peppermint oil, aduki beans (the exfoliant), vanilla and honey.

My absolute favorite part of the mask was the peppermint oil. It was such a calming scent to have on my face, not to mention the clean "tingly" sensation it left on my skin. The aduki beans are the chunky pieces you see in the mask. These were not super rough and although I applied the mask gingerly, I could still feel the exfoliation as I rinsed it off.

I've had zero negative reactions to this mask and I've already used it twice! It leaves my face feeling incredibly soft and fresh. Overall, it's a win win folks.

Little Gifts

I asked the LUSH associate for help picking out a Christmas gift for a friend of mine with dry skin. They recommended the Full of Grace Serum as a facial moisturizer. This preservative free moisturizing bar consists of hydrating butters, chamomile and antioxidant mushroom extract to maintain elasticity, moisture and glow. I got to try this out for myself while at LUSH. To moisturize, all you do is run the bar over your skin. It leaves a wonderful moisture barrier with an almost oil like consistency. The scent is very light, which I loved.

The associate also recommended the Ceridwens Cauldron as a moisturizing and calming bath melt. The little baggy is so cute! All you do is drop it into the tub. The oats, lavender, sandalwood, cocoa butter and walnut oil help soothe and moisturize itchy, dry winter skin. Once the bar has fully melted, you'll be left with a muslin bag full of oats that you can use to gently exfoliate your skin. Um, yes please!

Overall, as someone who has a hard time finding products that don't cause a reaction with my skin, I am super impressed with LUSH. Not only did I find new product possibilities for myself (without breaking the bank!), I also snatched up some great gift options for the holidays.  I can't wait to share these treats with my friend this Christmas!
